Manny Wasinger received Step 4 Achievement Ring for 200 victories in football. Wasinger was recognized at the CHSCA Hall of Fame Banquet and Introduction ceremony.

The Monte Vista High School chapter of the National Honor Society inducted five new members at a ceremony on April 27th. For consideration the students must maintain at least a 3.65 GPA (based on a 4.0), perform community service, show leadership and good character. Those pictured are (front to back, l-r):  Tyesha Keever, Luis Morales, Noel Heredia, Joseph Roberts, and Graham Oden.

Congratulations to the following science seminar students who earned numerous awards at the San Luis Valley Regional Science Fair
Jeremiah Etter  " Fields for Flight: Effects of Magnetic Fields on Butterfly Flight", Cortnie Hunter   "Water Quality, Soils, and Biofouling of Salvage Wells on the Closed Basin Project of the San Luis Valley, Colorado",  Tyesha Keever    "Magnets and Memory",  Colby Self   "How did the Papoose Wildfire affect Timber Volume on the Rio Grande National Forest?".  Colby and Jeremiah will compete at the Colorado State Science Fair and Jeremiah will compete at the International Science and Engineering Fair in Pittsburgh,Pennsylvania.  Click here for full results!

Tayler Rocha 2014 graduate recieved a special honor given to STS semifinalists, and she was invited to submit her research paper back in the early summer of 2014 to a professor from the University of Chicago. The journal is E=MC2, a collection of HS student work featuring some major component of analytical or math usage...for her, she had a fair amount stats, as well as some computer modeling of complex changes in water volume in the basins she studied. http://mazziotti.uchicago.edu/journal/indyjo.html is the link to the webpage of the journal, and her article is at the bottom of the page.
