NHS InductionThe Monte Vista High School Chapter of the National Honor Society inducted seven new members at a ceremony on April 25th. For consideration the students must maintain at least a 3.65 GPA (based on a 4.0), perform community service, show leadership and good character.

Hall Of FameHead Football Coach Manny Wasinger was inducted into the Colorado High School Coaches Association's Hall Of Fame on April 2, 2016.
Pan American DayCongratulations to the following students that placed at the ASU Pan American Day held on April 20th . This event had over 200 participants and was very competitive. Monte Vista High School did great.They placed 2nd in the Knowledge Bowl and 3rd in overall placements. The following are the individual placements:

Monte Vista High School Students Place at SLV Regional Science Fair
Monte Vista Students Place at RoboRaveJuniors Jovanny Garcia and Maclen Dominguez took 1st place in Robotic Line Following/Ping Pong Delivery Event on Feb. 27, 2016 at the RoboRave Colorado Robotics Competition hosted in Monte Vista at the Bill Metz Elementary Gym. Also, Freshman Justin Doyle took 1st in the High School Robot Maze and 2nd Place in the High School Robotic Line Following/Ping Pong Delivery Event. Congratulations to these Monte Vista High School Students.

Monte Vista High School Students Place at Colorado State Science FairMonte Vista High School continued their dominance at the 2016 SLV Regional Science Fair winning the Large High School Award for the 35th consecutive year. This year the team was represented by ten students on Friday, March 11th at Adams State University. Molly Nehring qualified for the International Science and Engineering Fair in Phoenix, AZ. Also, Molly Nehring, Amber Michel, and Parker Randolph qualified to represent the valley at the Colorado Science and Engineering Fair. Nevada Siemering received a $2000 scholarship to ASU. Other winners included:
Jeremiah Etter, Kendra Stonefield, Violet Swope, Cortnie Hunter, and Krystin Martinez. Loree Harvey and Gina Randolph served as sponsors. Monte Vista Wrestlers Place at StateCongratulations to Senior Jose Lopez and Junior Moises Juarez for placing at the 2016 State Wrestling Tournament in Denver on February 20th. Jose Lopez placed 4th in 152-2A and Moises Juarez placed 3rd in 120-2A. We appreciate both of you and all of our team's commitment to representing Monte Vista with class during your successes!
